"Classic reruns find a new-media niche Wednesday as America Online launches In2TV, which will stream free episodes of more than 100 series such as Maverick, Welcome Back Kotter, Wonder Woman and Lois & Clark. The episodes, streamed in DVD quality, will have one to two minutes of advertising. In2TV represents "the largest offering of free TV shows on the Web," says AOL's Kevin Conroy. "Consumers can experience this programming in a whole new way, and it opens a new window of distribution" for studios."

I've never been a real fan of AOL, but I think this is fantastic news! Free TV shows streamed in DVD quality? We're moving closer and closer to the time when I won't need any kind of entertainment feed other than the internet. With free streamed TV shows and other companies like Netflix looking into streamed movies, paying for cable TV is seeming more redundant every day.
