”Toshiba and Samsung announced the world's first High Definition DVD drive for laptops. The TS-L802A wil playback HD DVD and as well as burn DVD/CD discs. Toshiba & Samsung said a drive with HD DVD write capabilities is in the works.”
This is another area the HD/Blu-ray battle could be won or lost. If these drives start getting bundled with new laptops, it could result in a higher installed base for one over the other.
