"Executives at Netflix--fresh from last month's market-moving alliance with erstwhile rival Wal-Mart Stores--have little patience for talking about market segments that bring in customer numbers less than seven digits. The company recently passed its 3 million subscriber mark. Blockbuster, the main rival of Netflix today, has somewhere north of 750,000 subscribers and hopes to hit the 2 million mark by early next year."

They may not want to talk about it, but there is often good money to be made in a niche that the the highly price competitive mainstream won't go after. As the article mentions, there are services that focus on anime and adult titles. I've been using Blockbuster for two months now and have only found two titles that I was looking for that they did not have. Of course who knows what great niche recommendations I am missing out on since they don't carry the titles.
