CinemaNow Gets Video Deal with NBC Universal

"Online movie provider CinemaNow on Tuesday said NBC Universal has agreed to offer its films to CinemaNow subscribers giving the Internet service content from one more major studio as it continues to expand. Chief Executive Curt Marvis told Reuters that NBC Universal -- the General Electric Co division that runs Universal Pictures and broadcaster NBC -- had been reluctant to offer content to download and store, but was now willing to offer video streams of films and TV shows that are not stored."

Is this the mark of a new beginning for television? Will we be seeing move for pay-per-view to the online world? I can just hope that this is a sign of the TV studios moving into providing more legal ways of downloading TV series for home viewing in the (very) near future. ;)
