"You could say that I've been burning the candle at both ends in order to bring you benchmarks of NVIDIA's new SLI multi-GPU rendering technology, but the truth is, I've been flat out microwaving the darned candle. NVIDIA's SLI tech is about as cool as it gets, and I wanted to see what happens when you pair up a couple of GeForce 6800 Ultra cards for a PC graphics solution nearly twice as powerful as anything else available. Not only that, but I wanted to see how an SLI rig would compare to the latest cards from ATI and NVIDIA in today's biggest games—including Half-Life 2."

Scott Wasson over at TECHREPORT tested NVIDIA’s SLI ™ (Scalable Link Interface), currently the only technology available which allows for the combination of two NVIDIA GeForce 6-series graphics cards in one PC. Despite some heat related lock-ups of the test system it beats any single-card solution available today.
