"DIGITAL MIND CORP (DMC) said it has released a 100GB version of its protable music player. The firm claims 20 hour plus play time for the Xclef 500, which costs $450, support for FM radio/FM recording, and PC and Mac compatibility. It can hold around 25,000 music files or even backup your hard drive, claimed the firm, because it's recognised as a USB device. The unit has a built in microphone for voice recording as well as an analogue/optical line in for recording at up 320kb/s. As well as MP3 files, it supports WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Wave and ASF. The company said it's also set to release video products into the market at the beginning of next year."

Finally, a 100GB player. I am glad that it can be used as a portable drive as well. Plus, support for the most common file formats is a huge plus. I think we will now start seeing more and more of the high capacity players, it is sad that we have been stuck with the 40GB limit for so long.
