Speed & Space: Hitachi's 100 GB SATA 5400 RPM 2.5" Hard Drive

"On Tuesday, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies announced the Travelstar 5K100, a 100-Gbyte SATA drive for the notebook PC. The 5,400-RPM drive will be available in two models, the Travelstar 5K100 for standard notebook applications and E5K100 for more demanding data-access applications, like blade servers. The time is right for SATA to make its way into the notebook PC, Hitachi said, after SATA successfully has been established on the desktop."
Awesome...except that I'm not aware of a single notebook on the market today that supports SATA hard drives. :? Still, hopefully this will mean that later this year we'll see SATA-based notebooks.
