First 802.11 N Product Out the Door

"D-Link announced Friday that it was the first company to have its products certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, which controls standards for wireless networking. The D-Link Extreme N Router and Xtreme N Notebook Adapter were the first products to get the stamp of approval from the Alliance, although many other competing products are in the chute to follow. Both products are based on Atheros' XSPAN WLAN technology."

After years of pre-N this and pre-N that, we FINALLY have a certified 802.11 N product available. I'm satisfied with the range and speed of my G network, so I'm not in any hurry to jump to N. Plus, I have G built-in on my laptops and prefer not to have to use a PC card or USB adapter, so unless my next laptop comes with it built in, I'll be sticking with G.
