LCD Monitor Arms - Any Opinions on Them?

I'm doing a revamp to my office workspace (watch my blog for more details if you're interested), and one of the things I'm wondering about is whether or not those LCD monitor arms work well.
The image above is from a unit that Tiger Direct sells - it says it supports monitors up to 25 pounds, so one of my forthcoming Dell 24" wide screen monitors should be supported without a problem. I have an Ikea desk that I presume won't be a problem to attach it to. This would be for my photo/video editing workstation, so I like the idea of being able to position the monitor any way I wish. On the other hand, I'll need to have a mouse, keyboard, and speakers for this system, and a nice wide monitor stand gives me a place for all that. Decisions, decisions. Community input welcome!
