RoadWired Announces the Skooba Skin

"With a flip of the flap, the new Skooba Skin converts from a sleek, padded laptop sleeve to a handled carry bag, or vice-versa. The latest introduction from Skooba/RoadWired, the Skooba Skin is designed to protect a computer while carried inside another bag or suitcase, or to be used on its own for meetings, classes or other times when the laptop alone is all that needs to be carried. At first glance, the Skooba Skin is a study in minimalist design—in its sleeve configuration it looks something like a padded, rounded envelope—and the manufacturer says that simplicity and “purity” were key goals in the development of the product. In fact, there is not a zipper, buckle, rivet, clip, or hardware of any kind to be found on the bag. Instead, a unique, patent-pending flap configuration makes the Skooba Skin as versatile as it is understated. Once the laptop is slid into its protective interior, the mirror-image flaps overlap one another like folded hands—one inside the case and one out—and the outer flap fastens in place with a simple, concealed Velcro tab to close the sleeve."

When it rains it pours: another new product from RoadWired, this time it's a convertible sleeve/tote. It comes in three sizes, a $29.95 USD version for 10-12" screen laptops, a $34.95 USD version for 14-15" laptops, and a big version for 17" laptops that costs $39.95 USD. I dig the colour choices, all great choices. I have a different type of RoadWired bag that's similar to this, the Skooba Sleeve. It has a front pouch and a shoulder strap though, so it's more of a "real" bag. This Skooba Skin is more akin to the neoprene sleeve I put my 10.6" Fujitsu laptop in before I place it inside another bag. What can I say, I want the Skooba Skin bags as well. Did I mention I have a bit of a compulsion for collecting laptop/tech bags? ;-) [Affiliate]
