"The NW-A002, A003, and A005 players will be available in 512MB, 1GB, and 2GB capacities and will be priced below equivalent capacity Apple Computer iPod Nano players, according to a report on the Atrac Life Web site. The site also carried several professional-looking images of the supposed new players. In the images, the players look like USB Flash Disks, have a small OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display, a control button on the front, and a built-in USB connector. This makes them look like a somewhat more complex version of the iPod Shuffle."

Sony can’t seem to figure out the whole MP3 player thing. First they release an MP3 player that doesn’t play MP3s (only their proprietary Atrac format), and now this. I mean, OLEDs are the bee’s knees, but you are competing with arguably the greatest electronic gadget designers in the universe. If you want people to buy your stuff, you have to make it COOLER than the iPod line. Not more dumb looking. I honestly believe no one with functioning eyes will buy these on purpose. Maybe if one ended up in a Nano box by mistake…
