"Diamond Multimedia is (re)entering the sound card market with a new lineup of 7.1 solutions. If I remember correctly, I used to have a Diamond MX300 sound card based on an Aureal chipset...but that was many moons ago. The Xtreme Sound 7.1 has a MSRP of $29.95 while the higher-end Xtreme Sound 7.1 DDL (Dolby Digital Live) has a MSRP or $59.95."

Diamond is back in the sound card business with these two new cards. I have not used a dedicated sound card in years, but if you are looking for one, these look pretty good.
