"The Pioneer DVR-R100 supports what many believe are the fastest speeds that the DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, and DVD+RW formats will ever attain, marking an end to the years of rapid-fire speed increases that made most DVD rewriters obsolete in months. The DVR-R100 may not be the last rewriter Pioneer releases, but we expect it to be the first to have real staying power in this newly mature DVD marketplace."

Well if you've been waiting for what will probably be the last great DVD burner, this could be it. Frankly I'm just amazed at how fast DVD burning has become and my old 4x Pioneer DVD+/-RW drive is aching to be replaced. For under a $100, you'll have a drive that could last you for years and almost surely never be eclipsed. Sounds like a no brainer to me.
