This new player from Sony is a bit of a departure and a step in the right direction, but it is probably too little too late. It plays MP3's and has a color LCD. The article also mentions that is has a function "which allows you to take pictures and store them onto the player and view them afterwords". However, it is not clear if the camera is built in (hard to tell from the picture), you can copy pictures from a camera directly to the player (which would suggest it was a MD recorder rather than a player), or the device just will show pictures that you previously stored on a MD (would presume you have a MD drive in your PC - if such thing even exists).
