"I've searched high and low for a decent encoding tool for the Mac and HandBrake has been the only tool i've found that lets me rip DVDs and encode them for a variety of playback devices. It's easy to use, works reliably every time, is the right price and just works. If you're using a Mac then this software is pretty much a "must have"."

The PDA Guy really likes HandBrake, but who wouldn't as it is free (almost as in beer). ;) HandBrake seems to be a really nicely designed DVD ripper and re-encoder with less of the techno-speak options found in some Windows equivalents. HandBrake is available for BeOS, Mac OS X, and GNU/*nix for the current time being.
