"The internet's most popular search engine, Google, is testing a service that promises to extend its reach from web pages to television programmes. Google Video scans through television shows by analysing the subtitles provided for people with hearing difficulties. The company hopes that exploiting this niche service will prove a simple yet effective way to identify the content of a programme automatically."

Slick! Check it out for yourself. :-) I can see this being used much more often if it was integrated into the core Google search - most people won't remember to go to a video-specific search.
