"Offering major new versions of iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and GarageBand, iLife ’05 lets you easily create fully customizable slideshows and stunning softcover books with iPhoto 5. Edit high-definition 16:9 video from the newest camcorders in iMovie HD. Add movies, pictures and music to iDVD 5 projects just by dragging them in. Or create multi-track recordings in GarageBand 2. Of course, iTunes offers the world’s best digital music jukebox for Macs and PCs. It seamlessly integrates with iPhoto, iMovie HD, iDVD and GarageBand and syncs with every member of the iPod family. You won’t find a better or easier-to-use set of creative tools than iLife ’05."

Lots of great new features, but the big deal in this updated iLife suite is clearly iPhoto 5 and iMovie HD. iPhoto in particular offers a number of much needed improvements such as an overhauled photo editor, and more book publishing options. The improved library thumbnail view is really impressive as well.

iLife '05 goes on sale January 22 for $79. Or get it free with every new Mac.
