"Adobe has today announced Photoshop Elements 3.0. New features include the Healing Brush, previously only available in the full version of Photoshop, and new Spot Healing Brush as well as the ability to support RAW files. Other new features include SmartFix which analyzes a photo and automatically applies enhancements and the new red-eye function has been improved, all you have to do now is to click in the vicinity of demon eyes to remove them. It also now includes much of the functionality of image organization program Photoshop Album. It will be available for a street price of around $99). "

Also noted is that there will be a bundle of Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Premier Elements for about $150. Support for RAW files and the Spot Healing Brush are two great enhancements that I'm looking forward to. It also sounds like improvements to the Red Eye tool are going to fix one of the weaker parts of Elements 2.0. Photoshop Elements 3.0 is expected to ship "later this year".
