"The closer the artists are, musically speaking, the closer to each otehr they will be displayed on screen. You will be likely to appreciate artists close to the one you selected at first. The artists such as represented in cluster related one to another through their music style (Rock, Funk, Pop, Folk, Electro) but also similar epochs(60's, 70's...)."

I had actually seen this site some time ago but then my colleague pointed it out to me again this week and I figured it might be worth posting. The halo surrounding an artist's name represents how popular he is where the larger the halo is, the more popular the artist is or the more representative he is of a music style. However, it is unclear to me how U2 has such a small halo around their name, while Warren Zevon has a humungous halo. Anyways, it is still a very nifty flash application. I really wonder where they get their data from. My speculation is that it is from Amazon because the the thumbnails of the albums, plus the links themselves point to Amazon. Interesting.
