Viewsonic VP2290b - Be Amazed

"At first glance you might be mistaken in thinking that the VP2290b is just a chunky widescreen 22.2in TFT display but at the centre of the dark grey chassis is a 9.2 megapixel LCD manufactured by IDTech. Yes, I did say 9.2 megapixel, which gives you four times the pixel density that you’d expect from a 1,920 x 1,200 display. In other words, the VP2290b is capable of running a maximum resolution of 3,840 x 2,400 otherwise known as QUXGA-Wide."

So if I were to get my hands on one of these, I could open up the 6.something MP images that my EOS 10D produces, on the screen in gloriously full res (instead of the "crappy low resolution" of my currect 1600x1200 VP201mb) and still have room to spare for tons of applications. :) The only problem is that it costs about $6K. Of course, you will need two graphics cards to run such a monitor but Matrox has cleverly designed the Parhelia HR256 to actually be capable of running this display. I have seen this monitor (as well as the IBM equivalent) in action and it is hard to see the pixels even with my nose right up at the monitor. I can't wait for these monitors to be common place, think of high definition videos, movies and games that are able to run on monitors like these.
