"At first glance we thought that Archos had finally come out with their drool-worthy Archos AV500 (PMP with PDA functionality and Wi-Fi). But we find out that the AV400 Series is actually the successor to the AV300 reborn in a new enclosure (same as the future AV500). Even so, Archos has produced a noteworthy Portable Media Player that will keep the competition at bay."

I think we are all still desperately waiting for the AV500 but in the mean time, the AV400 does not disappoint. It is an icon-based navigation system with a 3.5" to 3.8" LCD color screen (320x240 QVGA) and a 20-100GB hard drive. It come with USB 2.0 and a built in CF reader, speaker and microphone. It supports MPEG, AVI, XviD, DivX, MP3, WMA, WAV, JPEG and BMP. The only downside as far as I can see is the weight which is rated at about 10 oz.
