Blimey, what was O2 thinking? This has got to be one of the dumbest ideas I've heard yet. An MP3 player that downloads music through your cell phone via IR, charges consumers nearly $2.00 per song, takes nearly a minute to download a 30 second preview, and has a hobbled DRM management system? My God, who dreamt that up?

:drinking:

"O2’s new music gadget is far from perfect, however. The interface is something of a hash, especially if you eschew the chart listings for a search by artist or genre, which involves going through a clunky selection process similar to finding a definition in a set of encyclopaedias. Once you’ve found your track, getting hold of it is sluggish – you have to wait about 50 seconds to get a free 30-second preview, and if you opt to download it permanently, you’ll have to wait a good minute in addition to the length of the song."
