A terrific presentation of one of the absolute best stories in American photography from the decade now ending. Or American and French photography, I should say, since Maier was Franco-American."

Take 10 minutes out of your day and watch the above video - it's fascinating stuff! The pictures are incredible - such perfectly captured moments of such a long time ago.

Three words: balls of steel. The guy nearly gets killed in what would have been a massively ugly accident, and a second later, he's snapping a picture. Clang clang!
